FAQs

At Nexus Wellness, we offer a range of services including bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for both women and men, weight loss management, and treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED). Our approach is personalized for quality of life to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring effective and comprehensive care.

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is a treatment that uses hormones that are chemically identical to those the body naturally produces. BHRT is designed to restore hormonal balance in individuals experiencing symptoms related to hormonal deficiencies or imbalances, such as fatigue, mood swings, weight gain, and reduced libido. Commonly used hormones in BHRT include thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. BHRT can be administered through various methods, including tablets, capsules, creams, gels, patches, and injections, and is often tailored to meet the specific needs of each patient.

At Nexus Wellness, we do not utilize pellet therapy for hormone replacement because it is an invasive procedure that carries potential complications such as infection, bruising, and scarring. Additionally, pellet therapy lacks dosage flexibility, making it difficult to adjust hormone levels once the pellets are inserted. There is also a concern regarding inconsistent absorption rates, which can lead to uneven symptom relief or side effects. For these reasons, we offer alternative methods of hormone therapy that provide greater safety, flexibility, and control.

While many individuals may experience symptomatic improvement from bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) within the first few weeks, full optimization of hormone levels and symptom relief can take anywhere from six months to one year, depending on each individual’s physiological needs.

While some of our services are available via telemedicine, testosterone is classified as a controlled substance. State law requires that care be established in person before initiating treatment with testosterone. This ensures compliance with regulations and allows for a thorough assessment of the patient’s needs.

Please note that insurance providers do not cover alternative care approaches, including those focused on enhancing quality of life, such as bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, weight loss management, and related services.

We accept payments from Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) for our services. However, it is the responsibility of the patient to file any claims with their insurance provider for reimbursement.
